Pre Order 17th October

Exclusively reissued on Translucent Yellow Vinyl and featuring striking cover

art designed by Storm Thorgerson

To celebrate National Album Day and the 2026 theme of 'Icons', Demon Records are

proud to present the reissue of Mr Love Pants, the 1998 album by Ian Dury and the

Blockheads on coloured vinyl for the frst time ever, only previously available on black

vinyl once before and out of print for over 10 years.

Seen by many as the true successor to 'New Boots and Panties!!', Mr. Love Pants was

sadly to be the fnal studio album from Ian Dury before his death in 2000 but in a

building of relations, it was also the frst studio album with the Blockheads for 17

years and featured the remaining band Chaz Jankel, Norman Watt-Roy, John Turnbull,

Micky Gallagher, Davey Payne and now Steven Monti on drums after the sad passing

of Charley Charles.

The album took around four years to complete and was recorded at Air Studios with

song partnerships initially beginning with Ian and Chaz Jankel including the songs

"Itinerant Child", "Honeysuckle Highway" and "Bed O' Roses No. 9" and latterly with

Merlin Rhys-Jones (previously in the Music Students, Ian Dury's band for the album

4,000 Weeks' Holiday) on the songs "Jack Shit George" and "Cacka Boom". The album

was produced by Ian Dury & The Blockheads and mixed by Laurie Latham who had

worked with Ian and The Blockheads on 'New Boots and Panties!!' and 'Do It Yourself'

along with the singles 'Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick' and 'What A Waste'.

"Itinerant Child" was originally to be released as Ian Dury & the Blockhead's frst single

in 17 years (since 1980's "Sueperman's Big Sister") but in the end the ofcial single

became "Mash it Up Harry"
